The LGBTQ+ STEM project originated as an idea: to bring together LGBTQ+ people working in STEM research to build a group that can support them in their scientific journeys. Our main activity to achieve this goal is the LGBTQ+ STEMinar, an annual event designed for people who work or study in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and are LGBTQ+. We aim to use the day to showcase work from diverse fields and to encourage collaborations between different departments, universities, companies and disciplines.

LGBTQ+ STEMinar 2020 – University of Birmingham.

The conference has a Code of Conduct, which all attendees agree to follow. This is to ensure everyone can have a positive experience and feel safe as they discuss science.
