What does your job involve?
Preparation of practical equipment for GCSE & A-level sciences for secondary school, 6 teachers currently, but should be more.
How did you get to this job (education etc.)?
Life’s ups and downs led me to this job.
Do you feel being LGBT has affected your career decisions?
No.
Have you had any reactions from colleagues about being LGBT, either good or bad?
Support from Leadership team and colleagues by not mentioning my clothing choices.
Did you have any role models growing up (LGBT, STEM, totally unrelated.)?
Definitely no role models, being an old geezer, but seen lots of little things from individuals which have inspired me to come out.
What are your plans for the future?
Continue to thank my lucky stars that I’m still employed.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Working in school with a heavily religious set of teens I’d find it difficult to wear what I’d like to generally, as a Trans- gender fluid M2F person due to likelihood of abuse. Partners are not always supportive either which also makes it difficult
