What does your job involve?

teaching, research

How did you get to this job (education etc.)?

PhD, postdoc, lots of hard work and waiting for the right opportunities

Do you feel being LGBT has affected your career decisions?

absolutely, yes. I went into academia since I always suspected that this would give me the best job security should I ever come out (which at the time I did not yet consider as a real option)

Have you had any reactions from colleagues about being LGBT, either good or bad?

Mostly OKish or good, but then academia is a pretty progressive environment

Did you have any role models growing up (LGBT, STEM, totally unrelated.)?

not really

What are your plans for the future?

live long and prosper I guess

Anything else you’d like to add?

Im by far not an activist, but I do think it is important to be visible so that others who may still struggle with themselves see that this is achievable and that trans* people are just as normal as everyone else is.
